Our Story
Alexander Excavation Incorporated was born out of necessity. Jerry Alexander started out as a building contractor, constructing homes for his neighbors in the Lander Valley and surrounding areas for many years. The problem arose when it was time to find a reliable local company to dig home foundations and utilities and provide necessary site grading. With limited options, he decided to take it upon himself to complete the job. So with the purchase of a few pieces of equipment and a "do it yourself" attitude, he entered into the excavation and earthmoving business in 1981.
AEI started as a family operation and that still holds true today. Jerry began teaching his son Wade the intricacies of the business at an early age. Not only how to operate equipment, but also how to operate a business and build something he and his customers could be proud of. So, for several years AEI was basically a two man operation, with both Jerry and Wade acting as laborer, operator, mechanic, or whatever else was required to get the job done. Wade eventually became partners with his father, taking control of the company in the mid 1990's.
AEI has grown over the years from a few pieces of equipment and two employees to one of the areas largest fleet of earth moving and excavation equipment and almost 30 employees. We have also progressed from primarily working on small residential neighborhood jobs to jumping into sizable commercial construction undertakings across the State of Wyoming and beyond. We have also stuck to our roots and we are still a family run business, with the third generation of Alexanders working along side his father. And we still have the same work ethic and a belief in providing our clients, large or small, with the best product we can build.
